Go to the john lennon airport in liverpool, fly cheap with easy jet (book early for cheap ticket). You can get a job in Amsterdam even if you don't speak Dutch. But expect to not find the best job in the world by just going there unprepared.
I would suggest looking around at some company's websites (for instance there's an american bookstore (www.abc.nl) and an english bookstore in Amsterdam. Also theres a canadian coffee place in some cities (www.socialground.nl).
Or look at an international carreer website. And try to get a specific job at a specific company. Because just going there and trying to find a job in a country you don't know can be pretty hard.

Post your CV on Monster. If you have an EU passport and know anything about computers, you should be able to get a decent job. But until you learn Dutch, you won't make a lot of money unless you can capture some niche market in something.
As an EU citizen, you don't need to worry about permits, etc.
Lots of expats live/work in Amsterdam. There's a lot of international companies (UPC, Orange, IBM, etc.) that are there so you shouldn't have a problem due to language to find something.

Many people in Amsterdam speak English, so it should not be a problem getting a job there. Escaping from Liverpool is just a matter of getting on a train or bus to somewhere else, I believe.

It's very easy. I stay in South Africa and worked and lived in London for 2 years. It was very easy to get a job but for you, go for Dutch classes and as soon as you can speak a bit. GO!!!
