There are some really good answers here so far. As a guy, I'd have to say a lot of them would work, especially if he hates "chick flicks". Personally, I like them, so only a few of these movies would have been torture for me.
There are also some older films to consider:
-Sound of music
-The Color Purple
-Almost any of the big musicals
-Arsenic and Old Lace
-Casablanca
-Gone with the Wind
Pick a movie you want to see. He's not trying to torture you. Star Wars defined a new art form, the high quality special effects film. Spielberg and Lucas threw away everything that had been done before and created something magical. By today's standards, it's not much, but those guys showed the rest of the world just what was possible. Without these guys leading the way, we wouldn't have had the kind of magic they did in Titanic, for instance.

I got a better idea, how about this you watch the movies first, who knows maybe you will like them, and then if you don't then worry about using some movies to torture him with. You know all the Star Wars movies have very strong female roles, Princess Leia in the old Trilogy and Padme in the new one. Give them a chance first before you past judgment whatda say huh?

I hate chick flicks but my best friend loves em, we have an thing like that to when we go to the movies together. I choose Star Wars:ll Attack of the Clones and she chose Crossroads, the stupidest movie ever, Britney can not act at all I laughed for the whole thing. So I don't know many chick flicks but that is the worst one I have seen

I made this same agreement a long time with someone. I was the Star Wars fan of course. Piano, Bridget Jones, Big fat Greek wedding, or anything along those lines. Just remember to throw him a bone, he might actually like one that you do but is not necessarily one of your favorites.

best one of all time.........every guy I have tortured ( and ther's quite a few....a lot....too many) has just HATED having to sit through this one ..............
HOPE FLOATS with Sandrda Bullock and Harry Connick. And no matter what movie you choose, If he feeds you the "it wasn't so bad" line? Go out and buy him the soundtrack to whatever movie it is.He is really trying to say"I'm not gonna let her get the best of me. the sensitive guy thing may get me some nookie" . tell him "since you like the movie soooo much you can remember it all the time now".
