Were have all the rational sane people gone. The world has gone completely cukoo. People thinking they are so important that only their opinions are correct. Hell and damnation if you dare give you kids sweets. So what if your kids like playstation they cant go out because their parent are frightened of paedophilles. What are the kids to do read books play board games there are only so many.
Sorry about the rant but it all makes me so mad sometimes.

Thanks Alberto you seem to have put into words what i was trying to get across.
Makingapoint i was not trying to be judgemental of anyone. Also the "sweets" thing was about how parents in the UK are being made to feel that if you give kids anything other than fruit for a snack you are a bad uncaring parent. Surely the odd sweet (candy) doesn't make you obese.

The world has not gone mad, people just have more time to interfere these days. Most of them mean well, but many are unable to see any point of view other than their own.

And your point is? I know many rational sane ppl and I know a few irrational insane ppl as well. I chose to hang with the ppl I feel most comfortable around. Not too clear on your reference to sweets. Harry Potter? I dunno. I noticed you left the 's' off the word "parent". Slipped did you? As for books I have many I have not fully read, but I'll get back to them. And you're right, there are only so many, but I doubt I'll read them all in my lifetime. Good rant, not too condescending, not too judgmental, not overly narrow. But maybe I should re-read it. I'll get back to you.

What the religious right doesn't understand is that what they preach is very very new. The book (the Bible) was never intended to be a weapon for childish adults. It doesn't say that God voted for Joe Blow, either.
People with that thinking need to peek at the book of Job. When Job went through his problems, the book says, he questioned God and his will. God "told" Job in a whirlwind: "You think you understand me? You think you understand my will? Where were you when I made the ocean?"
The man who knows everything has much to learn. The best teaching you can give them is to walk away.
Also, thanks to American Idol (see comment). He proved my whole point. It's basicly a child sreaming: "No fair."

Agree with you, we are in a mess, feels like we are all suffocating in our own real or imagined fears, sad but true, you just got to grab what flashes of happiness come your way and hope you bump into some decent like minded people on the journey, hope you do!
