I have been on BC pill for the last 11 months since marriage and our sex drive is very LOW and my husband is very upset abt it; as we rarely make love once in a week. When we were dating before marriage, we used to be very active (no BC pills) and used to make lots of love. Now, I don't have any mood to make love. Do you think it's the BC pill that's keeping me down b/c I love him with all of my heart. I need your suggestions, please. Thanks in advance.

I had that problem. It is more than likely you BC pills. You do need to go back to your DR and let him him know. The thing you should be aware of is if he suggests you try a different kind, ask him in advance, if that one does the same, if he would try you on another one after that. The reason is that my experience made me feel like a guinea pig. Each different pill can make your body go through so much. It takes a full month to see how it will effect you. (I went from a C bra to a DD at one point...ouch) If you can try the shot, instead of going through all that with the pill, ask about it. I had a friend that used it and it worked wonders for her both sexually and for the mind and body! I could not go that route as I suffer migraines. Good luck to you

Yeah, I think it's the pills.

I was on the pill for 12 years. I stopped taking it in February and got an IUD. I noticed a definite increase in libido after I stopped taking the pill. I would never have believed the pill was the problem...until I stopped taking it.

There are lots of other types of birth control you can try. The patch, the shot, and the nuva ring. The nuva ring is the least similar to the pill, so you might have good luck with that. A lot of people love it.

Yes it probably is the BC pill causing the low sex drive. Ask your doctor about trying a low dose BC pill.

I can tell you from my own experience that the reason the bc pill worked for me was that I NEVER wanted to have sex. (Sort of defeats the purpose.) My advice is to talk to your doctor about other bc options and maybe try going off the pill for a while. (Your drive will come back, I promise.)

One of the side effects of the birth control pill is decreased sex drive. If this really bothers you, I would suggest that you and your husband talk to your doctor to see what other solutions are probably best for you guys because you want to be happy and pleased at whatever method you choose.

Check the side effects of it - all pills are different.. It's a good possibility that it could be the pill.. I would check with a doctor about it, though.

See a doctor, both of you.
