Because Clear Channel which is owned by a Bush buddy, and owns a third of the Radio Stations in the US decided they were unpatriotic and created a religious fervor to shut them down. This is where we need the FCC to step in, but damn, can't have that either.

Don't hate them, just don't like their music. Never have, even before they got into the political arena. As far as their political views, they have a right to them but Cons have a right to not go to their appearances or buy their records. Oh, I don't like Michael Bolton either, but I do like the philosophy of the Cons.

Do you mean Neo con Or one that was caught and it's convict. Anyway some time ago they made the comment in Europe that Bush was an embarrassment. They just cut a new cd and one song "Not ready to make nice yet", their new sound is fantastic. They played to a sell out crowd here in Halifax, NS. a couple of months ago. We have a "Rolling Stones" concert this Fri. night. Assuming they are all still alive.

If you mean Conservatives then I will say that I hate the Dixie Chick's music. As for what they say, I could care less what a bunch of southern, backwoods "chicks" have to say about politics. As for Michal Bolton. When I hear him crooning I want to gouge my eardrums out with an ice pick. Same thing I want to do when I hear liberals and democrats speak.

What Natalie Maynes said was rather innocuous, but it broke from what is expected: that all country performers be Jeezuz-luvin', reactionary ignoramuses. The break from orthodoxy is why they're hated, but Green Day (who aren't even on the radar of Country Fans) get a pass for "American Idiot", which is much more scathing.

I love the Dixie Chicks!
So beautiful, and so talented. There is room for liberals in country music!

Hate is the wrong word. I choose not to attend their concerts because I don't agree with their philosophy. Why support someone who is so against what I stand for? I don't go to Streisand concerts either.
Everyone has the right to say what they want, just be prepared to handle the consequences.
