I think you've got to accept an important fact.
You can't carry on a rational conversation with fanatics. Religious or otherwise, but most especially religious. Most of the time you can ignore them but in this case no such luck. They are forcing the world to bend over backward to avoid hurting their feeling, poor things. I assure you, if the luck of the draw hadn't put such massive amounts of oil there the world would ignore the idiots.

He quoted some text that said that Islam was based on violence.
Of course, the retorts by Muslims stating he should have his head cut off for stating Islam was a violent religion proved him and everyone else wrong.

Nothing in particular, he only quoted a Byzantine Emperor who had to defend his country from Muslim invasions. On top of this, he also said this (the emperor's view) was not his own view (the Pope's), and also apologized to anyone who was hurt by the quotation.

He made reference to someones speech from yonks ago and got hammerd in the process, rightly or wrongly freedom of speech should be allowed both ways, he mentioned violence not being the answer and was then threatened with death for his words, sad sad sad people and a sad world, cant be all one way traffic

You're far away from right. What I am guessing from your comments is that muslims are responsible for the things above. Wrong, terrorists are the ones. What you dont understand is that there is a difference between terrorists and muslims. You cant insult another religion without taking the heat for it. I could careless if they riot, as long as they dont do it beyond their boundaries. Were muslims responsible for the Okla city bombing?

Not that the diaper-heads were fair in their reply, but the pope was an idiot for saying what he did. He should stick with the myth of christianity and leave the myth of islam alone.

He did nothing wrong. He quoted something that was written long ago and the muslims took it out of context. he has explained himself many times, but won't appologize. I don't follow the pope, but respect him for holding his ground. he did nothing wrong.
