It probably has something to do with the positions we take for unrination.

Bobbing down in a flowing skirt enabled you to continue to work at the same time, whereas men would aim with the wind so to speak.

The vermin factor also came into play. They (rats)would run around flowing, squisking skirts rather than under or into them. Men were out being hunter gatherers and didn't want to gather a lot of skirts around them as they tackled wifting through low lying branches.

At some point in history the dress or skirt became associated with slaves, mind you this was centuries ago. Because women were little more than property in that time, and the fact that they were looked at as such and as baby makers, dresses were the more flattering way to go if you wanted a roman soldier to pick you up and have his way with you.

I guess it has to be when men were slotting in some places with incorrect postures of standing and sitting and undeniably exposing their bottoms in history. On the other hand, women were topless and can't be bottomless I suppose. So who held the blame in global fashion trade evolution? Perhaps the Scottish were tired with kilts and tried to globalise women with new trends. Bottom lines...I'm sorry, too tired to work this out but I'm sure will find you the answer when I've thought about it. Thanks for the 2 points.
