The tfl website is indeed the best place to look. The Docklands Light Railway is an alternative to the mainline (Southeastern) train. And you could consider walking from Lewisham station rather than worrying about which bus to catch.

From Kings Cross take the Northern Line towards Morden to London Bridge then take the Southeastern towards Gravesend Rail Station or Hayes (Kent) or Cannon Street to Lewisham Station then take the Bus 321 towards Foots Cray Tesco
or Bus 178 towards Woolwich / Thomas Street or Bus 261 towards Bromley Common / Crown from bus stop C.

try going to transport for london website you can chose which for of transport to take they will give you correct bus /train/tube and the time of each one
