It is true but only in the sense that it is an "unidentified flying object" - meaning a piece of debris that came from the shuttle itself but they just haven't identified what piece. I think they now have 3 objects that have yet to be identified. Just go to www.cnn.com/space to read about it.

I dreaded the UFO talk as soon as I saw the headlines about a "mysterious object" floating near the shuttle...
It's a little, teeny, piece of space junk.
They just want to be sure it isn't a piece of insulation or something important from the shuttle before it comes in for a landing.
