How could booting your ID have damaged your PC? If files have been modified or corrupted then you must have allowed a Trojan to download.
Install up-to-date Antivirus software and a firewall. Also use anti-spyware software such as Windows Defender. This will not absolutely guarantee you against being booted but it will certainly protect your PC against damage from malicious software.

I assume you are referring to your yahoo ID was booted from a chat room.
The little script-kiddies that claim to do that are using a booter that simply overloads your instant messenger with requests and IMs to the point that it disconnects.
No actual harm was done to your computer...
unless you have no antivirus, firewall and good sense to secure the computer.
