I generally do not wear an apron, but sometimes if I am cooking and I am wearing nice clothes that I will wear out later on, then I use an apron. The purpose of it is to protect the clothes underneath.

Depends on what she is doing, if it is messy then certainly, it will save her other clothes and if in the kitchen can protect her from hotspill burns , do you think professional Chefs and culinary staff should wear aprons while at work, certainly protective clothing should be used if it is available. Frilly aprons are a hazard around stove though, they catch fire too easily. If it just is to fuel your French maid fantasies then that is up to you guys as consenting adults.

i'm no longer a housewife, yet I do cook dinner lots. extremely than positioned on an apron to guard intense high quality clothing from flour and grease, I purely positioned on an old pair of denims and a t-shirt i do no longer care approximately. comparable component once I do spring cleansing. despite if, perhaps if I have been having a dinner social gathering or Thanksgiving i could positioned on a cute apron.

This isn't the 50's TV show where the woman is in a nice dress while she cleans. Today women wear older clothes that they don't care about when they do any heavy cleaning. Or they are like me, and have an entire wardrobe of comfy stuff to wear around the house. It doesn't matter if I spill bleach on them, get them dirty, or get hot and sweaty while working. They wash and so do I. I keep my nicer stuff for going out, not cleaning and cooking at home.
Thanks for the laugh though.

Not unless she wants to. There's no law saying a house wife has to wear an apron. I don't. I just don't wear good clothes when I'm cleaning so I don't get bleach stains, or whatever on them.

I think the housewife makes that decision. If she wears her bra and panties or an apron and dress who cares? It's her house.

only if she needs one...you know, so she doesn't get dirty. or she could just wear clothes in which she doesn't care that they get dirty. but if this has nothing to do with getting dirty and she is doing it for someone else then... no, she should HAVE to wear an apron.

its entirely a choice on the housewife. why do you question this? should and should not?!! what the heck!! who are we to decide for these women who spend days cooking and cleaning for us? do you really feel we are the ones who should tell them what and what not to wear???

Sure if she feels like it, that's what they're made for. I think it's up to the individual. I have some hand made ones that belonged to my grandmother, and I wear them on special occassions like Thanksgiving, just for fun.
