My eye has recently been twitching. It is my right eye, on the lower lid towards the right corner.
Why is this?
Someone said to me that it means something goods going to happen?!
Someone also said to me its because of stress?
All your answers are appreciated, apart from the stupid ones.

Well, for some reason the nerves which control the contraction and relaxation of that muscle are involuntarily firing. Meaning something is causing them to tell the muscle to contract when it shouldn't. Many people have these involuntary twitches or ticks. There are a variety of things which can cause this, ranging from calcium deficiency to some psychological conditions and even stress. First, try to relax and see if it improves. If it's really troublesome however, you should probably see a doctor.

muscle spasms can happen for a variety of reasons and yes stress can be one of those reason - another reason can be low potassium in your blood - so you can try to eat a banana or something and see if that causes the twitching to stop

Mainly due to higher blood pressure. I had it going for the best part of a day after a particularly heavy night out on the tiles.

It could very well be "Early" signs of "Terrets-syndrome" my cousin has Teretts...(however, its spelt) and he always blinked his eyes.. And we just always thought nothing of it, just that he like needed to blink all the time.. To clean his eyes, or something.. Later, years later they gave his blinking eyes a name for a syndrome called Terrets... I dont want to say, get checked, cuz I get so tired of hearing people on questions, that constantly say that ... Wait and see if it continues, for awhile.. Then do what ever you feel it neccessary to do, about it... Good-Luck, to you!!

Mine started doing the same, and I asked my doctor about it. I was told it's stress. Yeah, great, just what I need,,,my eyes wigging out when I'm already stressed.

Perhaps Inspector Clouseau has wound you up again?
But seriously, maybe you slept funny and you trapped a nerve which has started to try and untrap itself.
