Season starts October 4. The channel Versus in the US (used to be OLN) will be showing games nationwide; in the spring NBC usually shows a set of Saturday games. Each team usually has a cable network (FSN, etc.) that will show their games as well.

The Flyers begin their season on October 5th at Pittsburgh. The old OLN network still has a contract for NHL games despite the recent change in their name to Versus. All teams have their own contracts to televise their games locally. And the games that are being played now are just pre-season games.
