I have put on a few pounds in the last few weeks but he said that HRT can't cause fluid retention. (He would know of course - being a man!)

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!
Are you taking synthetic estrogen? Yikes!!!

HRT info from the doctor who pioneered Estrogen Dominance research: http://www.johnleemd.com/store/hrt_research.html

Either educate your doctor or find a new one who will be open to natural hormones. :(

I am an alternative medicinal therapist and HRT is bad for you. It can cause breast and uterine cancer and many other problems and yes is can cause fluid retention. The GP's will tell you all sorts of things, manly because they don't know any different and half of them don't know what they are talking about. Orthodox medicine is killing us all off. There are many alternatives to hrt. Black Cohosh, dong Quai, agnus Castus the list is endless. I take black cohosh and menopace, but you must rest for i week in 5 from B/C otherwise it may irritate the liver. I have been taking this for 10 years and never had any problems. I give it to all my patients. You can get this from any health shop. You will find that the Dr's will try and put you off alternative medicine, the reason being is that they will lose patients and therefore MONEY
