I believe we have reached the point in our technological evolution where nano-engineering meets traditional biology. Rather than being limited to understanding cellular function and chemical interactions the future of biology will include the design and manufacture of custom molecules that go beyond the relatively simple chemical reactions as we know them today.

Micro biology is expanding greatly. There are still many mysteries in the human cells, human body and pathogenic organisms. The discovery still have a long way to go, and is just the beginning. Therapeutic techniques are being developed everyday, and there are great focus in how to manipulate cells to improve/reverse disease conditions. Besides, even if we found cure for all major diseases soon, there is always new diseases emerging, new ailments and new mishaps of the human body that affect the human well being. The strive for a longer and quality life is far from being exhausted.

huge , i recond. Viruses emerge and mutate all the time...SARS, avian bird flu..you get the big picture. Development of vaccines, pathogenic control,...it all involves micro. I'm just talking about the medical perspective here, there are many other areas concerning it. Take the pharmaceutical and food industry for instance.

In the short term future, say the next 100 years, we are going to find treatments for viral infects such as HIV and Hepatitus, and there will be a marked rise in the use of bacteriaphages to treat bacterial infections, as opposed to using antibiotics

microbiology is very important..not only for us..but also for the environment..!!but dont know whats scope are thier in the future..!!
