There is a saying I heard once, and it has always stuck with me... If you're arguing with an idiot, and someone walks in, how are they going to know which one is the idiot? So don't argue with them, you already know they're a fool, and other people will see it too. All I can say is be true to yourself, and let your yeah be yeah, and your no be no. My husband gave me a sweet compliment during a hard time a little while back. I was being attack verbally by a bunch of people, who kept changing the stories on stuff to make them selves look good, and I kept saying the same thing, over and over, never changing one word. He said to me "I love you - you are true to yourself" (He was there, and saw all that was going on, but we both knew that he couldn't step in, because it was his first time here, and I was dealing with family. We both knew it would've made things worse.) I guess I'm saying that idiots are going to do what they do, so be yourself, be honest and true, and people will know. First of all, know yourself. Have confidence and self respect. Don't be easily swayed by the teeming demands that will arise in your life. Don't act out of greed or envy. Don't let what someone has affect your inner value. Respect others even when they are fools. As your self worth grows and your inner respect and wisdom grows, you will find that you don't have to deal with fools at all.
