it is not too late.. here are a few suggestions to make it as cheap as possible... make it a pot luck.. everyone brings a dish.. buy dinner in bulk and don't buy prepared food (cost more) lasagna.. or one set meal .. Not lots of choices.. BBQ chicken ..salad..potatl salad.. rolls.. how about a taco bar? if you want sodas instead of punches, start looking for sales on 2 liters.. you can find them for $1 and stock up. make your own desserts.. if you choose not to do potluck. there are always someone who asked if they can bring something.. take advantage, have them bring a salad or a sweet for desert.. casual is the cheapest way to go.. take a look at a $1 store for cups plates and plastic wear, but if you want alot of people, Costco is good for bulk. chip and dip (make your own dip), a spinach and bread appetizers.. do you know of anyone who has a flower garden? ask if you can pick some of their flowers, if not, buy some Daisy's, or mums, they are cheap and you get more for your money.. add a scented candle and a tiny vase with just a few flowers in your bathroom.. add lots of candles.. go to a 'big lots' to find cheap candles. music and you have a fun party. I hope this will give you some ideas..

Of course its not too late! Every house needs to be warmed. And cheap is easy. The idea of a housewarming is to fill your new house with your friends. Since everyone you're going to invite is a friend or family member, ask each person to bring a plate of hors d'oevres. You supply coffee and soft drinks and tell them that they can BYOB if they like.

depending on where you live, i would think $150 would go quite a long way in a housewarming party. actually, maybe what you mean is an 'open house'. (?) i think someone else would be throwing a housewarming party for you. so, for me, i would concentrate on the food. what do you and your friends like? tacos, chinese, italian, nachos? think about the little details, like seating, music, atmosphere. if your friends are also young (no $), let them know that gifts are not expected...unless they are!

It might be a little late for a normal house warming party (most are done in the first month) but...you could invite friends & family for a potluck BBQ ..... have them bring a side dish, condiments whatever....you provide the hamburgers , hot dogs and drinks. Do what you can afford..Good Luck & congrats on your new home!

definitely not too late. everyone loves an excuse to party anyway! the cheapest way to go is a potluck. it is not too late to barbecue either. seeing as you both are underage, everyone will understand BYOB, so there is no problem there.

hope it goes well!

spend the money on drink and snacks, play some music, get as drunk as you can on said drink. That should do it.
