Why is it that people have this undying urge to type stuff like "dat" or "den" instead of that or then? I understand(sort of) in the saying of such things(however a 30 year old man saying "dare" instead of there just makes him seem to be a moron) i just cant get why people feel the need to type it. Stuff along those lines doesnt even make all that much sense as chat lingo to me. Something such as "ppl" for people makes perfect sense to me b/c it on the same side, makes it easy for people who just cant type, and save time...datt, dare, and den kind of words need explained to me please.

I think, in some instances, people really are morons and should never be allowed near a computer. In other cases, they have the misconception that they are actually cool by using slang words to describe things. I use slang occasionally, but I never thought that misspelling things on purpose was ever cool.

I am almost completely positive that there are other, more important things to worry and b*tch about.

But since you asked...
"Dat" "Dere" etc. are slang terminologies. Something like typing the way you speak, (and please believe, that everybody uses slang terms in some form or another) as opposed to typing grammatically proper. People will continue to type how they want to whether you understand, like, or agree with it or not.
Ex. "U cant be serious wit dis question", may be the closest in typing to how it would sound if you were speaking it as opposed to "You cannot be serious with this question". How many people do you know say "I dont wanna" as opposed to "I dont want to"? Thats about it.

My advice, dont let this keep you from sleeping at night.

Makes me a little nuts..... but for some people, maybe they really don't know how to spell. I receive paperwork from some of my employees that is actually indecipherable at times.

Between IM and chat rooms.... many aren't able to string more than 2 wds 2geter.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you... I would love to know also. I have tried to read some of the questions on here and it might take me 3 or 4 times. I am not sure if it is because they are illiterate or lazy? But why would someone want to appear either way to so many people who are reading this stuff?
Great question. Thanks again...
God Bless

I've wonder about this as well. If the same amount of keystrokes are involved, then just type the freakin word!

Maybe it's out of habit, convenience, wanting to stand out, or just plainly to annoy other people.
