philips has poor quality and is a ripoff for the money. sony is good but you also tied into only one program. which is the worst. also creative imo is the best, creative zen vision m is the ebst so much better than an ipod. for one the screen is gorgeous and it has a longer battery life. and it also has more features and funner to use.

Of course you dont! There are so many great mp3 players out there that are a lot cheaper than the ipod too. It all depends on what you want to spend, and on what kind of quality you are looking for. I myself do have an ipod and absolutely love it, but i have had an other mp3 player before, and to some extend it was a good one. I was looking for more so i bought the ipod after a while. Like i said, it depends on what you want. (i have heard the creative zen is good too)

No, and in fact i'd advise against it. Ipods are good but you are forced to use itunes to manage your music which isn't very user friendly especially for windows. If you want a decent MP3 player you can buy the same storage size as an ipod for a lot less money. Look at sony, creative, and philips, they all do good products.

I have an ipod that is easy to use, lots of storage, sounds great. Itunes that comes with the ipod isnt that great at all. I enjoy my ipod a lot more using real player. Rio makes a lot of great mp3 players as well. I have a Rio sport also but it runs on a AAA battery and has limited storage capacity so I do not use it much.

NO altho the newer IPOD NANO looks super cute ... i got a SAMSUNG which is pretty kewl i like it better than the old NANO ... i dont like following the crowd =0)
