My 7 year lost his front tooth about 2 months ago. I noticed that the one coming in looks a little discolored. He always brushes his teeth. What else could cause this?

Take him to the dentist, that is the best thing that you can do, some times it has to do with a deficiency in his diet. But for peace of mind, the doctor, will get you on the right track.

one possibility to factor is the quality of the water where you live. do you live somewhere with water that is clean and retains fluoride and minerals. or in an area that depends on chemicals to keep things fresh. this also will effect if teeth are healthy or brittle and goes back as far as your water intake through pregnancy. folic acids and calcium are important. see a pedodontist for a professional opinion because nobody can diagnose over the internet or phone.

did he loose it by having it pulled out by the dentist or did he loose it through an accident? I am thinking that this is still part of the old tooth.

Maybe the nerve in the tooth is dead. Bring him to the dentist.
