I want to pull all the info from a site and study it. Will they know I did this?

Yes. If they pay attention to site statitics, they will notice an abnormal amount of data being transferred to one particular IP.

They won't know your name or how or why you did it, but they will know that it was done and what your IP address is.

Not much they can do about it though, it's fair use, and worse they can do is blacklist your IP if they feel you suck too much bandwidth from them. But I doubt that'd happen.

If this is a concern for you, you can always ask them for permission. Contrary to what The First said, internet web pages are NOT public domain unless expressed otherwise.

I think each web-wite owners keeps the right about his information. So he definitely may have kept some locks on it.
With the help of these locks he may come to know whose taken the information.

Info on website us public domain (unless it's paid subscription content). If you're not going to sell the info you downloaded then its ok.

You really can do this by coping and pasting the html, nothing illigal about this.
