Actor: Vincent Price - he took every role seriously
Slasher: Michael Myers - his movies rarely dabbled in silly areas
Director: Guillermo del Toro or George Romero - If you're a horror fan, no explaination is needed

Feel free to tell me why.

For me it is "Sir" Vincent Price.

There are so many old movies out now.
My favorite is "House On The Haunted Hill" —
Okay, it is a scary movie, but it is also a great
comedy. The "bath" in the basement or the
dancing bone-man... that is so funny !!!

And I like the voice of Vincent Price. He talks always
correct and elegant. In the "Raven" when they fight
against Boris Karloff. Or have You seen AND heard that
very short Tim-Burton-movie "Vincent"? It is a kind of cartoon.
About daydreaming Vincent — and the whole movie is
spoken in rhymes. And the voice of daydreaming Vincent...

Guess — Vincent Price.

I also like Boris Karloff. But it is just "Frankenstein",
and of course I like Bela Lugosi, but only in the classic
movie "Dracula"... that's all.

What I do not like is slasher-movies.

The best horror-movie ever was directed by
Stanley Kubrick, who wasn't a horror-specialist:

"The Shining"

----
I also do like "The Bribe" — but
You were asking about
horror-movies and that stuff...

Bela Lugosi the father of horror films. He was in 107 movies and back then horror films relied on acting and make-up and costumes, not on special effects, and if you seen some of his movies you know why I picked him as my favorite movie ion.
I also liked Lon Chaney and Lon Chaney Jr. and Boris Karloff.
