Hello to everyone that was kind enough to answer me while I was obsessing about trying to get pg. I just found out this morning after waking and feeling very sick and tired that I am pg.. The line popped out on the test as soon as my pee hit it! I am about 5 weeks according to my doc. This is our first, any suggestions on taking care of myself in early pregnancy?

Thanks!!!!

excersise, eat plenty of veggies and fruits...don't worry about the meat factor ...you can always eat peanut butter for the protein..take ur prenatal vitamins and do what your body tells you. If it says take a nap...take one. I would try walking everyday for a set time and then gradually increase until about 7 months along and then decrease the time walking. If you walk everyday, you will keep your blood flowing, keep weight in check and feel great. But, the most important thing is DRINK WATER ALL THE TIME!! Stop drinking anything else except milk or 100% juices. The average person is suppose to drink 8 glasses a day...You need to drink maybe 12 - 14 glasses now because that is where the fluid in your belly will come from. I carried a water bottle with me all the time. Enjoy yourself. Its a very special time in your life. Write things down in a journal and do this everyday. I couldn't eat meat while I was pregnant...food cravings..LOL . studies show that mommies that eat veggies and fruits and hardly any meats tend to have smart children. They hardly have any jaundice and respond better right after birth. Just take care and be safe...God Bless!!

Congratulations that is good news. Now kick back and let the baby grow. Do not eat for two unless you want too much of a weight gain. If ou listen to your body you will get what you need for you nad baby. Reat when you need to and walk as you feel comfortable all the way through your pg. The better the conditiotn you are in the easier to give birth. Do not get to strenuos but walking is good. Good luck and May God Bless all 3 of you.

Go get a book called " what to expect when you are expecting" by Heidi Murkoff. It's the pregnancy bible and will help with all these questions. Your question as well as many others that you would not expect is in there. It's excellent in describing all of these little things that worry moms and help distinguish when something is "normal" or not.
Good Luck!

Take care of your body, mind, and spirit. You are carrying a precious life. You will have such a new perception of how wonderful you are.
Talk to your doctor about pre-natal vitamins, diet, and exercise.Everything in moderation.
Be happy, enjoy!! I loved being pregnant and I love my 23 & 19 yr old " kids."
Being a "mom" is the best job of all!!
Good LUck!

eat healthy and continue to do what you were doing before barring doing drugs or drinking alcohol or of course smoking LOL. but the rule of thumb as far as physical activity is if you could do it before you were preg you can continue to do it when your preg within reason. your gonna start feeling alot more tired now even though it wont seem like you should your hormones r adjusting to your new little one so if you feel like you need a nap take one just be smart and eat right. i hope i was of some help and good luck with your little one.

Congratulations.

I would suggest taking pre-natal vitamins if you haven't already started them. Increase the amount of water & milk you consume. Exercise is a very good thing to do while you're pregnant, it helps keep the amount of weight gain down, and also is supposed to make delivery easier.

Talk to your doctor, make sure you receive proper pre-natal care to ensure everything's going smoothly. Your doctor will also have recommendations on diet and exercise suited to you and your family.

Good luck

The number one point: eaty healthy. Do NOT drink, smoke or use any drugs your doctor did not prescribe. Drink plenty of milk and OJ. The nutrients you put in is the same nutrients your baby will (ultimately) digest.

And, CONGRADS! :-)
