Things develop within a species because it is a desirable trait that allows them to breed more then others without that. When those animals were living in their environment, having the ability to change color allows them to survive much better, so it slowly evolved. In modern society, very little importance is given to physical traits when it comes to breeding. Modern medicine has allowed people who would normally not lived long enough to breed, to have normal full lives. If you interested in this topic, research eugenics. So the ability to change colors is not a positive or negative trait for humans, so it won't integrate itself.

So it is hard to say where humans will be genetically in the future

There is no need to encourage evolution. It is going to happen whether u want it to, or not. That is the way GOD DESIGNED IT. As far as man goes, we already have the ability to change the way we look. As a hunter, I have several camo patterns to wear according to the type of environment that I'm going to hunt. Man can change his looks in many different ways, any time he wants to. He can shave or not shave. He can let his hair grow or cut it all off . Make up can totally change his appearance. He can wear glasses, etc, etc, etc.
