I still question this myself... possibly it's because they feel it's a "neutral" status, so they're have no inclination towards anything bad or "wrong" [in the publics point of view]

If you define Led Zeppelin as soft, boring rock, I'm sorry, but you've got pretty "inferior" taste.
It's a matter of taste. I think the pu$$ycat dolls suck worse than anything, but I know people who think they're the greatest thing ever.

How can you class ROCK as soft & boring ?
It is lively & energetic, and the band members actually play the instruments. Not like the crap we have today.

Because they aren't true lovers of music. True lovers of music can appreciate all forms of music and realize that each genre effects the other

Because some people have no respect for black people or at least they don't have respect for what they do. But they invented rock too.
