I am wondering why so many questions about homework and looking for schools show up in this topic. I had thought "special education" was going to have questions mainly about children/families with disabilities and educational concerns for kids needing IEP.s etc. If I am mistaken, my full appoligies. I know I should never assume!

I get why kids are asking...I meant to ask why the questions are on the special education board and that I thought that would be a forum for discussing educational needs above and beyond what is taught in an average class.

I think all the off-topic questions irritate a lot of us special ed teachers, parents, and others.
I have posted a suggestion in the forum that this board be renamed Education of the Disabled and the Gifted so that that it is clearer to everyone what the topic is about. Maybe that would cut down on it. I don't think everyone knows what "special education" means.

In my opinion kids ask homework questions here so others can spend that little extra time looking up the answers for them - what would kids do without computers and the internet?? I remember back in the olden days we had to look up encylopedias etc for our information - now kids cant even be bothered typing in the subject they are needing into their search engines!
As for Special Education - I agree I would have thought the same as you.

Homework questions are here because kids don't want to make the effort of actually doing the homework themselves!

I don't know but I agree with you 100% and I get a lot of thumbs down because I always answer the homework questions with "do it yourself, we never had the luxury of yahoo answers for someone to do our homework, we served our time".
