Depends on what you are learning thru SAP. If you are SA or a DB admin, yes you need to learn a programming with C or C++.

If you are a implementor, user or a consultant no, you don't need ot know any of that. Just know the functionality and the environment.

Personally, I like being a SAP consultant. There is more money in it. I know they are a hot commodity in the market place and they make a boat load of money.

A bit of programming knowledge helps for being a consultant but it is not absolutely necessary.

Is Sap Easy To Learn

I think how easy SAP is depends greatly on yourself, your ability to learn, and related experience.

I would say that a basic understanding of SAP is easy to learn. However to master just one module, is tough, and you could spend a lifetime trying.

You don't need programming experience unless you want to do ABAP (SAP programming) but it is useful to be able to build simple queries as a functional consultant.

Roy is right in saying (for the hundred thousandth time on this site) that the difficult part in becoming a top SAP consultant is getting the appropriate experience.

It is not enough to have experience in other areas of IT and SAP training, you must have relevant SAP experience.

No it is not easy. Therefore you need at least two years of experience above your training before becoming a recognized SAP professional.
