Is the reason that we don't have a British Dream due to the fact that we're all awake over here?

It's because your Queen decides what your dream is going to be. She'll let you know what it is as soon as she wakes up.

Be happy that you guys don't have a British dream, because you wouldn't have to wake up and realize that your dream was nothing but a nightmare.
The American dream, or what has been pulled over our eyes in order to keep us complacent, is nothing but a pink lie based on debt and promises that were never kept and never intended to be kept.
You British are lucky, but then again... you are ruled by a lapdog of Bush who has turned Great Britain into a vassal state of the U.S.
My advice: Keep awake and do not dream.

Once upon a time the British dreamt that the Sun should not set in their empire. But now Sun is not even seen in U.K most of the time. Americans now dream that middle class white male Americans should influence entire world opinion.. This dream also can not be realised.

The American dream was established to counteract British exploitation. The reason why you don't have one now is because you lost the ability to dream when you were forced to face the nightmare of defeat by the American colonists. That was your Korea , Vietnam, Afghanistan, Iraq or whatever you want to call it that led to the collapse of the Empire. And those latter involvements are leading to the collapse of ours.....................

I wouldn't generalize that much, but in Europe more people than in the US seem to be aware that the "American Dream" is only a device of their ruling class of politicians and big business to keep the "commoners" in line. Because they don't give up hope to be at the top at some time in the future they even agree with having their own entitlements and social security as workers curtailed in the here and now. (Just like the good Christians a lot of them are.)

Due to their socialist economic system they can never have a British Dream.
Because of their high taxes, they stay in their own class, which is what the Democrats want for the US.
