Blackstone Brewery is awesome. They have really good food and 6 different micro-brews on tap. It is about a mile from downtown.
Big River has good food, but we usually don't have very much luck with the service.
BB Kings is decent also, but gets kind of rowdy at night.
We usually only go downtown to party, so I really don't know of any good "restaurants" in that area. Downtown is more bar oriented. We usually head over to the Green Hills area for good food. There are a ton of good restaurants that way.
Nashville is not exactly the best city for seafood, but you can get pretty good bbq just about anywhere. Try "Jim and Nicks" or "Whitts" for bbq.
