The second largest is Denver International which is 53 square miles.

The biggest airport by land size is King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. It covers 81 sq. miles where as London Heathrow is only 4.7 sq miles but handles the most International passengers and handles the third most passengers per year behind Atlanta and Chicago (both have many internal US flights)

From my travel experience I have heard that
London Heathrow Airport, Chicago O'Hare and Frankfurt are fighting for the first place (at least as far as the busiest airport)

But then also LAX might be in the mix too...

I think China will soon build the largest.

I'm not sure how much land the largest airport has.
I used to work at Heathrow and there was 50,000 people working there then now there is an awful lot more.
I know there is a lot of jobs involved in polluting the planet.

seems to me that Indianna has the figure of 81 square miles for SAUDI airport so I think she may be correct and I agree with someone else that China will eventually build the biggest and in the near future

Heathrow and Schipol are big intercontinental hubs so it'll be one of these two - depends on who you ask, but after the completion of T5 at LHR, that'll be the biggest.
