I have shirts by Turnbull & Asser of London that last a lifetime, except collars and cuffs may need replacing in 10-15 years. Prince Charles wears some of these shirts. $275 is about the average price for one. As for cheaper brands, Gant and Manhattan shirts have proven to be easy to wash and iron. Ralph Lauren makes pretty good shirts in his Chaps and Polo lines. Costlier is Purple Label. I have doubts about such chains as Sears and J. C. Penney. I've seen men wear some shirts from such places that were junk. If you wear a dress shirt every day, as I do, it is wise to invest in a good brand. One of my 15 year old Gants looks better than a new J. C. Penney shirt a pal had.
