Hotel Acropolis View
in the centre of Athens, quite, and - as the name indicates - with a wonderful view on the Acropolis from its terrace

when i travel to athens
i many times used
hotel aphroditi
at 21 apollonos street
10557 in athens
very near syntagma and plaka
because it was near from all..
and it had affordable prices
now hotel aphroditi is no more
the renovate the whole house
and its now a very nice trendy
stylish hotel central
great comfort rooms with view
to acropolis and a very god
breakfast buffet, so if you have some
money left(90.-) like to spend a day in style
i can recommend this place
her is a link;
http://www.centralhotel.gr/
but if you with a much smaller budget
just 10 min walk away there is
The Student & Travellers Inn
It is hard to look past this newly renovated building
situated in the heart of the Plaka (Old Athens). It is run by a great team
who are very knowledgeable about all types of information, and are more than willing to share this with you to make your visit here even more enjoyable. The Plaka is the oldest section of Athens
and most streets have been closed to cars.
However, it is easy to pass the days walking around the narrow, labyrinthine streets amongst restaurants, cafes, and the many tourist shops for all the gifts you need
(and those you don’t!)
to take away with you as a wonderful reminder. The Students Inn is centrally located for everything Athens is famous for, and as you turn down the street towards us, the Acropolis looming at the other end (just 10 minutes away) will show you that you have chosen the right place
i checked this out for you and its a god place in the middle of the plaka
and not much traffic noise, the reception staff is very nice and helpful
and the girls in the kitchen are very god cooks
but go to look at your self, here is the link:

Why don't you try this site http://tripter.co.uk/hotels/Greece/Athens/reservation/-814876/0/c/ After you enter your dates (they are changing their site and for the moment it's only after that stage that you get the cool features), you can choose your hotel according to its proximity to a landmark, monument, airport, train station... at the same time it shows you the number of stars and a super useful thing: the review score given by people who went there previously. They have almost 150 hotels for Athens so I think you should find something you like. I think it's a better way to choose as you see pictures, you know where the hotel is (they also have a map that shows all their hotels) , if people who stayed there liked it, the discounted price, the availability...
Have fun in Greece and I hope it helped.

Stanley hotel
Plateia Karaiskaki(Karaiskaki square)
It is in the centre,it has the suburb railway exactly there and you can be wherever you want in few minutes. It is a nice hotel and it is not so expensive.
The Karaiskaki square is not the best in Athens,so when you arrive there,I guess that you won't like it very much because there are a lot of high buildings etc. But,in 5 minutes from there with railway you can reach Acropolis.
Bye!
Have a nice time to Athens!

Gladly!
Just let me know how many € per day you want to spend, in other words, what do you consider to be "mid priced"?
I'm not a travel agent.
