You are saying why isn't mercury disturbed. The info released to the public is that it a hot, violent hell. However…

Why would the heat of the sun perturb mercury's orbit?
Or is this a bad joke playing on the fact that thermometers sometimes contain mercury?

because of distance , sun's own gravity holds its gases, mercury's gravity moves apart from sun due to momentum of inertia, sun's atmospheres limits its flames
