I painted an old t-shirt with blood stains one year I then made a fake knife which I glued into postion through a rip in the shirt's chest, so it looked like I'd been stabbed.
Then just do some make up your face which makes you look like a corpse. It worked well and got a lot of comments. I wore all my ordinary clothes on top.
You need, some red food colouring, mix it with water, a tiny bit of washing up liquid and some flour to make a thick paint. Place a plastic bag between the shirt's front and back. Paint of huge blood stain with dripping bits, either flat on the floor or hanging off the washing line.
Add a cut to fit the fake knife through. For the Knife, two pieces of strong card, electric tape for the handle and foil for the blade bit. Make flat folds. 4, to glue onto the under side of the shirt. Cheap make up, black eyes, pale face, hollow cheeks and blood drips from your mouth and nose.
Voila!

Take a black marker and draw the letter "P" around your eyes and be the Black Eyed Peas. Tape Smarties candies to your pants and be Smarty Pants. My daughters birthday is right around Halloween so she used to go as a birthday present. I would wrap up a box in birthday paper, cut out a hole for her head and arms. Leave the bottom of the box open so she has enough leg room to walk. I would put a big bow on her head and give her a matching gift bag for collecting candy. Another year my daughter didn't want to dress up but wanted the candy. I made her wear one of those eye masks where it just covers the eye part of the face and has holes cut out for the eyes. Even that she didn't want to wear so she pushed it up on the top of her head. The neighbors laughed and asked what she was supposed to be. I said.... A PARTY POOPER!!!! It was a hit.

A paper mache pumpkin. Make the body by using flimsy wire (the size you need for the body of the wearer). Orange tights. Orange, yellow, black face paint, glue & glitter. You can also make a Couldren using the same stuff but just changing the colour of the tights.

A cute cowgirl costume is always a winner.
You can iehter wear jeans, or a mini skirt. If you don't have cowboy boots you can go to any secondhand stores and pick some up. You can always find a cheap cowboy hat too!
