An intelligent person doesn't rely on the 'news' reporting machine for information. Their job isn't to serve and protect. It's to boost ratings and sell advertising slots. Most politicians and reporters share the same bed.

Suppose the USA is a large Buick Roadmaster. Behind the wheel is a self-absorbed drunk, paying no attention to the road or who else occupies it, or even really caring about any of that in the least. The media is the rear-view mirror.

Our drunk plows into a bus filled with three thousand American servicemen and women who all die, and also forty-six thousand Iraqi civilians, who all die, too, and our drunk also causes almost nine trillion dollars in damage, and the Roadmaster is totaled.

So, do you think all this is the rear-view mirror's fault?

And why not do a news story on how vulnerable our food industry is? If that's what it takes to get us true protection, give us plenty more. The terrorists already know all this, so the media didn't give them any ideas. All the Department of Homeland Security is doing is protecting the Big Businesses who can well-afford to pay for their own damned protection: Power Plants, the Drug Industry, Oil Refineries, and Defense Contractors.

The little people like farmers, grain mills, and sugar refineries are virtually ignored by any security. If we're lucky, there might be a minimum-wage rent-a-cop on duty who isn't drunk and/or stoned and/or asleep all the time. Homeland Security couldn't care less either way. If it takes the media to point this out, more power to them if it finally gets something done.

You're totally insane if you think the US media is controlled by Islam. The media was entirely too kind to Bush and his people for the first five years. Now they're just starting to finally do what they should have been doing all along, all of a sudden it's the Big Bad Media's fault that this Country has went straight to Hell in a handbasket for six straight years.

Give the other seventy percent of us a break. Did you just now notice this Country's in serious trouble? And only one party has been in power ever since it went straight to Hell?

Wake the hell up. Accept reality. We're not exactly in Disneyland anymore. This Country has been run by total idiots for six years now. The Emperor never has had any clothes.

The media just noticed this five years too late, not three years too early.

people like to have a tangible scapegoat. to blame the media or even the u.s. government would be too vague. people need someone they can see, someone they can identify so they can blame...you know...this guy right here, or that guy over there. it doesn't matter what's actually true or intelligent, everyone is looking for SOMEONE to blame when something goes wrong.

president bush is terrible at public speaking. i don't know how stupid or intelligent he might actually be, but he LOOKS stupid on t.v. therefore, everything the man does in leading the u.s. of a must be an uninformed, unintelligent, misguided decision. and he is the one that's out there. he is the representative. he is the leader. everything bad that happens is his fault. no matter how ridiculous it is to blame him, just him, that's what's happening. because he's "stupid". everyone thinks they would do a better job. everyone thinks they would be better if they could run things. these people don't know what goes on behind the scenes. they only know what the "news" (and i use that term lightly) channels feed them. the "unbiased" and "objective", rating hungry whore, media will tell you exactly how stupid our president is and how terrible of a job he's doing while throwing in some scare tactic outbreak "possibility" story because it's more attention grabbing. this all coming from the really "smart" bimbo behind the news desk. nevermind about the people who actually KNOW anything about politics or foreign policy. nevermind the people that actually study and follow this stuff and don't get their information from these competitive networks. no one really has a stand on anything. people go with what's popular. the same people who will tell you we have no business in iraq, no business taking out saddam, no business meddling in other countries' affairs will now tell you that we need to intervene in sudan. wtf? seriously. i don't think the american people, the majority, have any idea what's really going on anywhere. and how would they? CNN? MSNBC? Fox News? right.

Oh honey, lets not forget the media 'selling' our country to the terrorists by printing leaked classified information. We need to start with those freakin traitors, by charging them with TEASON and executing them. If the NY Times found out the only reason the US was not being nuked by North Korea is because we were holding a North Korean 'elite' in prison --don't you think those b@$ tards would print an article about the poor mishandled terrorist and DEMAND the prisoner be released?

The president is only one person and is an easy target to bash, on the other hand the media is huge, where do you start. I personally hate the media and find it hard to believe half of what is printed or said.

The media is selling papers or commercials, the president is selling us out to the oil companys and others that feed the war machine, one is just stupid and the other is on purpose, you decide which is which.
