Look at it this way, your mom has been down that same road you are now traveling. She remembers what it was like to be 16. It is impossible for you to know 1/4 of the things she may have forgotten and the times may be different, but thing are pretty much the same. If you choose to calm down and listen to her, in the long run, you will thank her. If not, you will be fighting with her for years to come, because you lost the meaning and feeling of her as your mom and your mom as your friend, your best friend. After all is said and done and you have kids of your own, will you tell them that your mother was strict or will you explain to them that your mother love you very much and you do the same for your kids.

Sweet sixteen. Men love that age, your mom is during what she is suppose to do, respect her for it, YOU understand a little bit of her feelings and communicate together now, this year will NOT be repeated. Don't miss out on some wonderful knowledge, and a beautiful year to bond. You'll talk about it later on in life.

If you don't need to take any pocket money from your mum, can wash your own clothes, cook your 3 meals, keep your room clean, take care of your mum when she is sick...then maybe you can declare yourselve "able to take care of myself". When you grow older, you will understand, what she wants from you now, is what you need. Until you understand this, then probably your mum will grant you with all freedom.
