should i buy a new memory? what should i do?

go to http://oca.microsoft.com/en/windiag.asp from here you can download the free utility of microsoft to test you failing memory. After testing the same you can buy the same type of memory as you now have (i.e same frequency etc) so that both can work together ( provided the old memory is still working and you require an add on). If the old memory is partly corrupted then replace the whole memory with the required strength say 512 MB the present days standard.

Usually this means you have too little RAM memory. what windows does is that it will set aside about .5-1GB of Hard drive to act as virtual RAM memory. Whn you start to use this up...

I would go get more memory. 1GB is about the norm for a quick running computer, especially with Windows Vista on the way.

your hard drive is losing memory because it is full or getting to the point that you need to delete files or copy files that you want to keep onto a cd.you can go to disc cleanup and it will do it for you.if your memory is lower than 56k i suggest buying a 128k with a 128k backup.but i would use the disc cleanup first so you can see how much memory you can obtain from deleting files and pictures from RAM

512 MB RAM you Must have atleast 512 MB ,

most of the softwares and OS wont work without the 512 but if youre upgrading it then make it one GB

mine did too.. n it was a goner. all my docs r gone..n mine hv dis ticking like bomb ticking sound, i tot it was going to xplode, but it didnt, instead i lost all my data... i did sent it to fix, they said it was the hard drive. but now it still ticks, just not as fast n as often as the ones before it crashed. always make backup copies!

your pc makers home page may have a pc checkup tool to see if thats your only problem..normally it would tell you whats wrong and what to do..If not you can try replacing your chips to see if that solves your troubles..

SCAN for virus. or other case is that RAM memory is damadged
