Yes, in my book they earn some well-deserved respect.

I think they have always been respected by some teams, especially the Steelers who were division rivals with the Jags in the AFC Central. Unfortunately, the respect factor only goes as far as a team goes in the playoffs in my opinion. I mean the Steelers have been to many AFC Championship games in the last 10 plus years but have only won 2 or them and a lot of people only show respect to teams that can get it done consistently. They were 12-4 last year and were beat in the playoffs. I am a Steelers fan and I don't care if Ben had a fever or if he was still hurting because that is why you have back-ups and I feel Charlie should have started because he has had more reps than Ben and he wasn't sick or anything. No excuses, the Jags played an awesome game and I have always felt that Jacksonville would always be a tough game no matter what. The respect tag is really overused and I think the best respect you can get is when you go out week after week and consistently kick butt and let your playing on the field do the talking

Yes, but unfortunately there are still a lot of non-believers. I think this team is playoff-bound and will give the Colts more than they want this weekend. I picked the Jaguars to win their division before the season started and stick with that now. The team that is overrated in my humble opinion is the Colts. My feeling is that Jacksonville will beat them twice this year. Fred Taylor staying healthy is a huge factor as the year progresses, but I respect the Jaguars chances very much. What a tough defense this team puts on the field. They may not score a lot of points, but the other team is usually going to get less.

I would have to say so. I watched the last four minutes of that game and was totally impressed with their ability to hold off the Steelers. I am sure most people believe that the Steelers just had an off night, but that was some good football. I live in Atlanta, but I might actually become a Jags fan after that!

They've had my respect since Del Rio took over tho I'm not big on Leftwich. That's a tough division to play in & they haven't been doormats under this coaching staff. They just need a better QB coach and a better conditioning coach & they should be able to go deep in the tourney.

I think they did. After beating the Cowboys in week one and then the Steelers this week they deserve some. They were 12-4 last year and nobody really noticed.
