in my personal experience, people who don't want to play board games are very bad losers. My uncle practically throws his teddy in the corner if he doesn't win, and doesn't play any more!
Also some board games are very boring and complicated.

This may be a sign of the times.
Everything these day's is on computer or digital. What with games on the Internet, your mobile phone and so on, people no longer know how to enjoy a good old fashioned board game. Shaking a dice and moving objects round a board seem to have lost appeal. People it seems now prefer to just press a button.
Playing a good board game used to get people involved at a personal level, and helped people communicate with each other while having fun. I'm sorry to say, but I feel those days are now gone.

I think a lot of people think board games are outdated. These will mainly be the teens and adults. Children and the elderly still appreciate board games because it's a fun thing to do.

The other group has been spoiled with all the other game possibilities there are nowadays...they want better visuals, sound effects etc.

Like I said spoiled.

People hate to play board games because they either cannot understand the rules or they dont want to lose the game.

>Anti-social is the basic reason. Board games require social interaction with others who are playing the game too. That is why video games are not considered emotionally/socially healthy... they are designed to be played alone...yes I know they allow additional players. But what board game initially is designed to allow for one player? When you read the game's package it usually states "2 or more players".
>Another reason personally is that some are not challenging enough or too complicated to learn in a few rounds.

Some people probably don't like how long some games take to finish, like Monopoly. I have had Monopoly sessions that started at 8 PM, 7 PM, and lasted until the crack of dawn lol.

Because computer games have more or less replaced board games. How many kids do you see playing snakes and ladders and ludo?!!! Instead they're sitting in front of a games console.

depends what you mean by board games.
I play a lot of chess but monopoly I fond to be just chance and therefore a waste of time.

Each to their own. If not playing chess, I'd rather be reading a good book and learnong something new.

They either don't have enough patience to play, don't understand the rules of the game or are very bad loosers!
