I saw a post criticizing the raise in corporate profits. Other posts are against defense contractors, evil big business, etc. What system would you recommend? (And no I won't play the false-dilemma game of entrapment ~ communism). But what would suggest America do.

LIberals are anti-capitalistic all the way. I live in Kansas City MO (pretty **** liberal) and I see people complaining all the time. Look at what liberals stand for.
Higher Taxes (Especially on the rich) - Socialism
Socialized Medicine (Just look at THEIR LEADER John DUMB*** Kerry) - Socialism
Reduced Profits of Corporation - Socialism
Affirmative Action - ( An attempt to create perfect income equality) - Socialism
More government jobs - Socialism
The Welfare State - Socialism
I don't have enough time to cover everything cuz I got to go to class, but let me leave you with this, Libs are removing religion from everything, and thats what the Soviet Union did. They put govt. before beliefs, and libs are doing that now.

Here is probably the only honest answer you will get from a liberal all day on this subject. Far as that goes it is probably the only honest answer that you would get from a conservative all day.
No, I am not against capitalism, but there should be some limits for the good of the country. Health Care comes to mind. When a segment of the society gets greedy then it offsets the balance of wealth and people on the low end get upset. The system works until somebody gets greedy and at that time it breaks down. The oil company's come to mind for this.
As a wise man once told me the world is set up like this, you get a little, and I get a little and the guys at the top get a little more and everybody is happy. Somebody gets greedy and the chain breaks and nobody is happy. I really do believe that is what happens when supply side economic become the way of the land, as it is now. As what to do I subscribe to the practice of consumer driven economics's that way the guys at the top get a little more and you and I get something for our money.

I am a libby and am also a commie...yes I know this can never exist in its perfect form. I do believe in a little more government regulation, not control. Example, a company like Nike. Great in marketing, but do they really need to charge $90 for a shoe that cost $13 to produce and market? The margin of profit is great, but what message does it send to the society about the value. In general it says that do value is associated with perception or image. This is not good. This is why kids get picked on in school. This is why adults grow up being depressed. etc etc... I am not saying the Capitalism is bad, but I just wish a little more regulation was intact.

I am not against capitalism. The problem is that our government is making it too easy for the businesses to ship labor overseas that should be performed in America to keep Americans working. Its not like the businesses lowered their prices when the labor costs got lower. And look at all these companies using temp agencies. They hire through them, paying a lower wage than regular employees make, don't have to provide benefits and can keep them on as long as they wish. (I know one person who has been at the same factory as a "temp" for 2 years!). The trickle down theory only works if the jobs are kept in America and the companies do their part to keep us working.

There is nothing wrong with Business making a profit...that's why it exists...however there is something very wrong with a government that puts business interests ahead of lives, the environment, and using unfair trade practices too lower the standard of living for the working class in this country through artificial quota's and price adjustments that only the Wall Street investors reap money off of.

No. I'll speak for myself and say I have issues with robber-barons and out right crooks like the corporate leadership teams at Arthur Anderson and Enron. As long as a company operates fairly and legally, I have no major issues.
