System Doctor is not a virus. It is a spyware. Run both Ad-aware Peronal Edition (http://www.lavasoftusa.com) and Skybot (http://www.safer-networking.org/) to remove any spyware. Run both as one may caught something the other missing. Norton and both the spyware scanners work better if the PC is in Safe Mode. To get into safe mode, reboot the computer and repeatedly press the F8 key during the boot up until you get a screen offering Safe Mode as an option. Run all three scans and then reboot and it should return you to normal mode.

Norton is rubbish, according to my IT guy, Panda Platinum is supposed to be good, although I found it a little annoying, it kept popping up to tell me to do a scan, mosts days infact. NOD32 Antivirus System I have found to be good.

Update your software and then run a full scan restart your computer and run a scan again. Viruses are out.

get rid of Norton & use one of the many & much better free packages (AVAST for example).

Norton not only slows your machine down it also buggers up registry settings which can have the effects you are seeing now!
