The winds blows between the buildings like fluid and speeds up as it gets between close building. Kind of the same effect that the winds have in Santa Ana have in California where the wind is shuttled through the Rocky Mountains.

Great question.But here is what I know or I should say what I read in the local newspaper about 3 yrs ago.It said in recent years they have been tracking the windiest cities in America to put up these Wind Turbines and have found that Weatherford Ok. is now the Windiest city in America with Chicago IL. coming in second ..For yrs it was known that Chicago was the windiest city and that is were they get their name the Windy City.But in recent survey of wind gust and daily wind levels that the windiest city is Weatherford..And the windiest County is Custer County in Oklahoma..Guess where I live 'YUCK' Custer County..Wind here almost everyday..If it's not windy something is wrong..Hope this helps..Thanks for asking...
