Do you think the leaders of Islam do and say all they can to discourage terrorism?

Following the numerous Islamic fundamentalist attacks around the world, there appears to be very little public condemnation of the acts from the Muslim community.

Now I have absolutly no doubt that the vast majority of muslims reject and are as horrified by these attacks as the rest of us. What I would like to see and hear is promiant muslim leaders making joint statements with British government officials condeming any such acts of violence. Instead, we hear a lot from the Muslim Council of Great Britain concerning Islamophobia and the muslim community feeling vindicted and targeted by idiots who think that anyone who has dark skin is a terrorist.

My point is this: had muslim leaders made a stance and showed more solidarity with British leaders, I believe there would have been far less Islamophobia, less intolerance and less violence towards muslims. Do you agree with this view?

well said my friend!!!

Officials are now asking Muslim parents to turn in their kids in if they suspect foul play....but as we all know this is not going to happen is it..British leaders should be pushing for this act of solidarity instead they are too busy pusy footing around trying to be politically correct!....

I think that the majority of Muslims are being given a bum rap. Several countries are predominantly Muslim, and other Muslims live in places all over the world.
Every once in a while we'll see an article that plants a more positive picture of Muslims. But for the media, images of angry Muslims raising fists, burning flags, and swinging signs, is far better fodder re ratings, than videos of peaceful Muslims expressing outrage about deadly Muslim behavior..
Give me the name of ONE Muslim leader that the US media flocks to in times of crisis to obtain a condemnation of terrorists acts.
Then take a Look at the list of names of so-called 'experts' that the media 'flocks' to every single time Muslims are implicated in terrorist acts. The SAME experts, time after time.
You want solidarity.
Then give these Muslim leaders the same amount of time to present their view, as is given to present the other side of the coin.
The truth is the media has no interest in peaceful Muslim leaders.

And forcing the Pope to apologise just sticks in the throat!
Why don' these murdering barbarians start apologising for the absolute horror that they(Islam) has brought to this world.(?). Why is it that all they(Islam) demand everything that they believe is their right.(?). Apologies, free movement of they're(Moslems) peoples, non-condemnation..etc, etc, etc..
I have said it before, those in this country(U.K.) should either come out on the side that is feeding them and clothing them, and DEFENDING them or piss off back to the barbarity that is Islam, ie: sod of back to the middle east!
If Moslems wish to stay in the U.K. then they must decide on which side to fight. If you are against the U.K. then sod off!
"But i was born here". Is the general bleat. Well, prove where your loyalties lie. Those that do not should be charged with treason. And deported, we do not need the filth that is masquerading as a civilised Religion.

I do indeed. It would not only show us that they truly appreciate the lives that Western democracies have made possible for them and their families, but speaking out against the tide of jihadism would go a long way to helping their brothers still living under its oppression get out from under it sooner.

Muslim leaders are as afraid as the rest of us of the dire consequences of speaking out against Muslims.

Unfortunately the sane and logical people will always be afraid of the insane and radical ones. Impasse.
