My friend went to a beautician and asked for thsi treatment. She was told that it was not appropriate for her skin colour.

because it can cause their pigment to lighten and cause scarring

Electrolysis and laser hair removal are "permanent" hair removal methods but are expensive and you have to find a trained professional, otherwise your skin could be damaged.

Are you sure it was electrolysis, I don't think there is any reason why she should not have this. If it was laser hair removal it is different as the laser works on the pigment in the hair, thus ideally you should have fair hair and dark skin, if your skin is very dark you risk serious laser burns.

Well I don't think colour has anything to do with it, maybe its her skin type.

if your skin is very dark you risk serious laser burns.
