I was able to use mine at several cash machines thru-out Egypt though mainly in Cairo. In other places I had to hunt them out.

For a quick...and reliable answer...call the 1(800) number for 24 hour information that is listed on the back of your card. It doesn't matter what anyone here says...it matters what are the rules at YOUR bank and on YOUR debit card. Have fun in Egypt

Yes, you can use a debit card in Egypt.

You do need to notify your bank before you leave the country, so the fraud department will be aware of unusual transactions. Some banks also require you to activate you card for international transactions.

If your card has the plus or cirrus symbol it can be used at merchants and atms that take those cards.

If your card also has a Visa or MasterCard symbol it can be used at merchants and atms that take those cards.

It depends on what your debit card is. If it is badged with the international payment systems such as Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, etc yuo can probably use it abroad. If you are in the uK and it is badged with Swicth/Solo or Link and nothing else, you won't be able to use anywhere abroad. Speak to your issuing bank.

Probably. Visa, Mastercard, Discover, AMX are all generally accepted worldwide. You'll probably get screwed on the exchange rate, but the card will be useable.

I used mine there in February this year. However, tell your bank before you go so that they can note your travel against your account.

If it's opened for international use than you can use it worldwide. You'll have to contact your supplier for info about that.
