You should really bring this to the attention of her pediatrician, my son has been asthmatic since about 1mo old & and that is one of the early symptoms of it. She may have an upper respiratory infection & in babies so small it can develope into bronchitis or pnemonia quickly. Remember she is still new to all the germs in this world & you don't want her to become seriously ill.

My oldest daughter had some breathing problems because of muscus at a young age (0-6m). It took me a while to connect it but my daughter was allergic to our pets. Yes the cats(2) and the dog. This reaction caused her to have a post nasal mucus drop and it eventually caused her to have ear infections. We moved briefly to a home without pets and she was fine. When we moved back into an environment with pets it happened again. Dr.'s don't like to diagnose baby's or toddlers with allergies or ashma but the truth is many of them get it and all needs to be checked.
My sisters baby has a condition where when he refluxes it goes into his lungs. They did not figure it out untill he was 4 weeks old. He is 6.5 weeks old now. They did the test at a hospital and the dye they used with the radiology showed how it happened. He did not present the same signs other babys would when this happened.
In any case you should go to the doctors with her. She should see a healthcare provider for the best care and the best answer.

If she's acting normal in every other way then I wouldn't worry about her. Babies sneeze and cough like adults to clear out the sinuses and clear the throat. She could be showing signs of allergies.
Put your ear to her chest and listen to her lungs. If she 'rattles' while she's breathing, take her to the doctor. It may not be health threatening, but it's something you want to check on.

If she is having a difficult time breathing, then she should be seen by her doctor. If she is not and isn't sick...then you may be talking about that raspy sound which they do because they do not know enough to cough up what is in their lungs. None the less, I would have her seen since she is so young, just to make sure.

If she is congested, you need to use saline and a bulb syringe to clear her nose. Also, try elevating her head when she is sleeping.
Put a pillow under one end of her mattress or buy a special foam wedge (don't put loose pillows in her crib with her). Take her to your pediatrician as soon as possible.

there could be a lot of very serious problems associated with that. if i were you, i would take her to the doctor asap. if you can't afford a doctor, try a free clinic. you can find them in the phone book or by calling 411

if in doubt......have a doctor check it out.....
our doctor told us to let our kids cry a little when they first wake up. not a long time......but let them fuss enough to clear their lungs out. he said that new parents are to quick to get their babies.......... but made it clear.... with in reason........
it helped a lot.
just for the people who will down this.....we timed it....lol.....about two minutes of crying was enough for us. you can tell the difference between fussing....crying....
when it sounds...pissed off....its time to get her up.
ask a doctor....to be sure.....
