I am a Muslim and I think there is some rightness to what you're saying.
It seems the hatred between Westerns and Easterners (and I am not saying Christians and Muslims because in my country both religions live in peace) serves only the intentions or extremists from both sides.

That would be the ideal situation as far as terrorists are concerned. A global war against Moslems would create such wonderful mess, chaos on an apocalyptic scale. And remember Moslems do not constitute a tiny minority and they are not as defenseless as they may seem. More important perhaps, they love death the way people in the West cling to life. So, instead of provoking Moslems, we'd better embark on a genuine and far-reaching global effort to build bridges, win over people still sitting on the fence, before it's too late. Terrorists love it so much when Moslems are constantly being humiliated and told what to do.

I'm pretty sure that the motive is there, but when we hear of the 'poor' Muslim countries that are being suppressed by western contries, don't forget that there was a time in the 16th/17th Century when the Ottoman empire (Muslim) ruled parts of what is now modern day Europe. The Turks ruled this country (Hungary) for around 150 years, suppressing any other religions. Did they complain then? I think not.

How do we know that Muslims did it? 'Cause some loose tongued media man announced that on T.V? I suggest that Muslims stop getting heart attacks when they r accused of terrorist assasinations. Try discovering who commits genocidal activities in Iraq, Afghanistan, Kashmir, Palestine and Chechnya. Perhaps that will help get rid of the undue sense of guilt over crimes which other people commit. EDIT: @Karina---thumbs up! @Michelle---no problem! pay me a visit whenever u r free. I'll hand over those itty-bitty terrorists to u. Got them all packed in my brown suitcase.

Terrorists aim to provoke an extreme reaction. At the same time, Europe & the USA has spent the last century lieing to, swindling, cheating & killing the people of the Middle East (which let's face it, are mostly Muslim) either in person or through a series of corrupt governments they have propped up.
Don't get me wrong; I have no time for extremists but we have brought this on ourselves & I can't see how they can ever trust the 'West' again.

I doubt if most terrorists have a concious intention other than to act out violent megolomania in order to feel more powerful themselves.

Its an age old tactic. Divide and conquer. Already public opinion is severly divided over issues such as Iraq and Afghanistan, and we will start to see more opposing radical views regarding islam in England.

Of course this is their aim... hate towards these communities allows them to recruit.
And all the non-Muslims are just playing right into their hands.... it would be amusing if it wasn't so sad!
