You probably get it so often because your immune system is not at full par. Or like a lot of women they treat themselves but totally forget about treating their partner and get reinfected from that. Your vagina is self cleaning and thrush occurs when the balance is out of whack so stay away from douches and sprays etc. A natural way of clearing up thrush which has worked for me is to fill a bath with warm water and put into it about a cup full of white vinegar. I know it's not a flowery smell but we are after treatment not smelling pretty. Sit in the bath for about half an hour just relaxing...you arent getting clean so no soaping etc. If you can manage to get a little of the water inside you that would be good but some will enter regardless so dont sweat it. It should clear it up pretty well but if not then wait 3 days and repeat. Wear cotton underwear and nothing tight like jeans for a while. Vinegar is a natural antiseptic and will restore the ph balance down there so to speak. Dont forget your partner too or it will all be for nought. Good luck...hope this helps.

Thrush occurs when a yeast called candida grows out of control. Candida normally is present in small amounts in the mouth and on other mucous membranes. However, under certain circumstances, candida can grow rapidly, causing thrush.
Thrush can be a recurring problem for people who have chronic illnesses or who take medications that impair the body's ability to fight infection (weakened immune system). Since these people have difficulty fighting infections, the fungus that causes thrush can spread throughout the body, causing life-threatening blood or organ infections. Adults can treat thrush at home with gentian violet (1%), a dye that kills bacteria and fungi. It is available without a prescription. If there is no known cause for the infection or if gentian violet does not cure the thrush, you need to see your doctor..Measures can be taken to reduce the discomfort of thrush:
Drink cold liquids, such as water or iced tea, or eat flavored ice treats or frozen juices.
Eat foods that are easy to swallow such as gelatin, ice cream, or custard.
If the patches are painful, try drinking from a straw.
Rinse your mouth several times a day with a warm saltwater rinse. You can make the saltwater mixture with 1 tsp (5 g) of salt in 8 fl oz (0.2 L) of warm water.

There are several possible explainations for why you get thrush frequently. First off, your partner may well be a carrier and give it to you. Most doctors treat both the woman and her signigicant other if the infection is a reoccuring problem. Men can carry the yeast cells under the foreskin and in the urinary tract without having problems- due to their construction it never gets to a level to be a problem.
The next way you could be having trouble is due to wiping in the wrong direction. You need to be very careful to wipe yourself from front to back- not the reverse. Bacteria found in the gut can live very well in the vaginal canal and cause problems.
Oral sex can cause the problem because the bacteria live in the mouth and also on the skin. I suppose you could ask your partner to rinse with an antiseptic mouthwash-requested with some diplomacy I suppose.
Bubble baths are big no-no's on a regular basis, and definitely if you have an infection. And birth control pills can also make you more suseptible to infections, as they change the chemistry of your vaginal secretions. Don't know what to suggest to control that. I've read you could use organic yogurt, or live culture yogurt, mixed with water, to douche with. Never really wanted to try that out myself.
A doctor I worked with also used to advise ladies with the problem to wear cotton underwear, to avoid panty hose unless they removed the crotch from the hose, and to avoid wearing tight pants and panties. All these things keep air from circulating and sweat from evaporating. The crotch is already a pretty warm, moist, dark place, which is just the sort of place yeast and other beasties prefer to live. Wearing tight clothing is the equivalent of crotch pot cooking for yeast.
Make sure you get your undies very clean. That means using the hottest water they can stand with a bit of bleach for good measure. If they can't take the hot water, the next easiest method is to toss them - damp- into the microwave and set it for 2-3 minutes- until they get really hot and steamy. That will kill any of the beasties who survive the wash.
Sometimes, if you suspect you are early into the infection, you can avoid it by using a vinegar and water douche. That will acidify the tissues enough to kill most of them off and save you some irritation. You can also use the medicated ones, but the vinegar is usually cheaper and works as well.
Don't wear underwear at night to sleep. Get a little air circulation going when ever you can. Avoid perfumed and colored toilet paper, and all those "odor eating" feminine products. Don't douche unless you just have to- certainly not just to feel fresh.
All of these things should help you avoid trouble in future. Meantime, I'd get your partner treated, just to be sure. And if you have had this problem for a while, you want to visit the doctor just to be sure that's what is happening, and all that's happening. Hope you feel better, and some of this helps.

If you mean thrush in the mouth, it could be something else entirely. My family was diagnosed improperly for years with thrush. It ended up being a condition called geographical tongue. It is not a disease, rather a condition that you just have to live with. It comes and goes, just stay away from citric containing foods and that helps prevent the pain.

If you have thrush, it probably means that you have an overgrowth of yeast in your body and/or system. I would suggest that you get a prescription of Diflucan (it kills yeast in the body), and for about a week you eat yogurt with live cultures and drink lots of water.
I hope you feel better!

Try wearing purely cotton knickers - alot of people think it is because women sleep around but that is the easy answer to shout out. Try the cotton thing for a week whilst using a PH balanced fragrance free soap on ur delicate bits - use simple products they are brilliant. Let me know how u get on x
