The easy way to do this is to have a password for your profile-account on the computer. If you use this capability all of you folders will be protected by your log on password and it is an easy "automatic" thing. Don't use auto logon and don't use fast user switching. Be sure to set the password to your user account before you disable these other features.
Use the Help item on the Start menu to guide you through this.
ps - I'd be careful about downloading free software for security purposes unless it is very well known and very well trusted. A lot of free stuff is, or has malware in it.

Oh yes, you may type your password into a .txt document. Then, in order to encrypt (or protect) it, download a program that encrypts files and folders.
The one that I currently use is Mindsoft Shelter.

I don't think placing your password into your computer by typing it into a file and encrypting it is a good idea. Of course, if a virus is on your computer they always have a chance to bypass the password. I suggest that you store the password in the safest place - your mind.
Those file-encrypting programs are only useful if your household uses that computer altogether or uses the admin user altogether. And, of course, helps you hide your privacy with your roomate or household, or whoever those people you are hiding them for. Hackers and crackers can easily crack those codes with a hack tool, or something they use...
P.S. If you really have a hard time remembering passwords, have a notebook with a lock and write your passwords there! And, keep it a secret!

If your using < win 98 then
Option1 :
Open command and go to that path and type rename {hold alt and press 254} filename{hold alt press 254} then enter
Then that folder unable to open it will show size 0kb and unable to delete
Option 2: for any windows
Hide it and “regedit” in run
And go to this path
My computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\
SOFTWARE\Microsoft\CurrentVersion\
Explorer\Advanced\Folder\Hidden\SHOWALL
Than
There your able to see Name Type and Data
In data there is a “radio” is there delete that then your unable to see show all files in folder option
If you want to that option again go to that path
And right click and new--> string and
Double click on that change name to “Type” and Data to “radio” than you will get show all files option in folder option.
