I understand they did do something they considered parallel, but charged money for it. In what way that would be similar, I fail to see. The very nature of this forum is that it is open. No fee, and anyone can join as long as they exercise good manners.

To be fair, yahoo answers isn't very good is it? People respond to questions they no nothing about, often actually with the words "I dunno". Or worse, they think they know and write nonsense. Only people who study physics should be allowed to answer physics questions. Similarly with chemistry and maths. The amount of rubbish and abuse that is printed is extrodonary.
